Monday Evening Kenwood Jam

Join us for our guest-led jam featuring the talented Bill Beckman, a longtime leader at the Twin City Ukulele Club and the club's private library librarian. Bill is also a prolific writer of parody songs, skillfully transforming familiar tunes into delightfully unexpected melodies, ensuring laughter and fun at every ukulele jam he leads.
When he’s not at a jam, Bill shares his passion for history—sometimes even dressed as a fur trader—or performs with the U Can Jug or Nots. His unique blend of musical creativity and playful personality makes every jam welcoming and entertaining for players of all levels.

This guest-led jam features the U Can Jug or Nots, a lively jug band celebrated for their playful spirit and unique blend of pre-WWII music. Drawing from the 1920s and 1930s, their repertoire includes old-time, early country, blues, gospel, and pop songs of that era, all performed with a creative twist.
The award-winning band utilizes a vibrant mix of ukuleles, guitars, U-Bass, harmonicas, and homemade or modified instruments like jugs, washboards, spoons, can shakers, box drums, and kazoos. They embrace experimentation and fun while maintaining rhythm, often giving songs their own unique spin. In the spirit of the original jug musicians, their performances celebrate the humor, energy, and ingenuity of the genre, making this a perfect evening for those who enjoy guest-led jams and the camaraderie of the Twin City Ukulele Club and lively ukulele jams.
